MS SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition 64 bit

Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. It has been commercially available in many editions for many years, but the most widely used version is still the MS SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition 64-bit. Many of the features that are designed to make Microsoft SQL Server easy to use are missing from this edition, including high availability options, high performance options, and encryption at rest. This article will give an overview of what features are included in this edition of MS SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition 64 bit database server software. The Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition (DE) (D60A, d60a-003, d60aece.rll) is the least expensive edition of MS SQL Server to purchase and contains all the features needed to create and administer a database. Because it is not supported by Microsoft for mission critical applications, and does not include enterprise level options such as High Availability (HA), this edition does run with some extra software that can offer these same features on a single server install. These options were not included by the manufacturer because they are either more costly or they consume resources that can be consumed on a single server machine. For example, mirroring of databases is more than likely one of these options. Mirroring of databases is a great option when wanting to keep up on the latest information on one or more databases, but it takes some extra hardware and network time to make this happen. Because of this reason, it was not included in the D60A edition. This article will discuss the features that are available for MS SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition 64-bit database server software. When installing Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DE, there are several options that can be configured to help save time and hard drive space. The first option that must be configured during installation is the Collation setting (ANSI_NULL_DFLT_BIN). This setting determines the language in which all text in MS SQL Server 2000 DE will be displayed. The default language for D60AE is 'en-us' which translates to English. The next two options that should be configured are the path to the Common Files Folder (C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft SQL Server\\100), and the path to the Windows Scripting Host (C:\\Windows\\system32). Both of these settings should point to an appropriate drive letter or folder location within your disk drive(s). The installation step after these steps is similar, however, when installing MS SQL Server 2000 DE you must select whether or not there is going to be a Windows NT Service Data File associated with this install. After the steps in part one of this article have been completed, a setup window will pop up that is going to allow you to choose the database that you want installed. If you do not have a database server configured on your computer, this setup window will open a new dialog box that will redirect you to configure a database server for your computer. Once this has been completed, the installation progress screen can be displayed from where you can follow the progress of installation. The installer will ask if there is any other installs scheduled before proceeding with this install. eccc085e13
